Happy Halloween!!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween.  I had a fun party over the weekend.  I also got my very first trick-or-treater today in the three years at this house.  It’s not the best neighborhood for getting candy, because there aren’t a lot of houses in nice neat rows.  The mom was quite weird, and started telling me their life story.  I wonder if she does this at every house?!

Here’s my pumpkin this year.  I felt that the alien deserved a nice green glow, so I used wonderful glowstick technology instead of a candle.

Black-light no-no

Never aim a black-light into your bathroom, even if you just cleaned it and think it is spotless.  It ISN’T! And you will be disturbed.

It makes me curious to aim one into one of my mom’s bathrooms, because her house is always immaculate.  But I bet this light would catch stuff!

Dell Deal

Wahoo! Today Dell announced that their all-new XPS 420 systems will come with some of our with Adobe software pre-installed. I’ve been working with Dell on this for a long time and it’s fun to be able to announce it publicly.
I’m sure you’re all as excited as I am, right? (Just pretend you are)

A TV Show, or more

I’ve done this once before on my journal with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, and this time I can try it with TV…I’ll give you the description of a TV series first:
This is a show on the CW network: A young guy named Sam has the thankless task of hunting down demons who have escaped Hell and are running loose on Earth. He finds that he also has odd powers that he can’t control. All this has happened to him because of something that happened with his parents long ago.
What show am I describing?

Well I am actually describing TWO shows on the CW: Supernatural and Reaper. They have almost the same plot, except one is a drama and one is a comedy. It’s like a CW executive said, “Hey, this show is doing well; let’s make it again but this time as a comedy.” It actually worked, because I enjoy both of them.

Rejected Web Site Theme #3

This theme would have been fun.

Rejected Web Site Theme - Harry Potter

And this one even comes with theme music that may sound vaguely familiar…

Rejected Website Theme #2

I liked this theme, but some sort of Cease and Desist letter stopped me…I’m hungry for something with a lot of cheese now.

Rejected Web Site Theme #1

I had many other ideas for website designs before I came up with this one. Here’s one of them. For some reason, some TV network considered it copyright infringement. I have no idea why:

An Inappropriate Contest

I recently went to an expo and they all like to give out free stuff. Someone gave me this free magnet poetry while I was there and I thought, what’s the dirtiest phrase or sentence that I can make with the words on here. So I leave it to you all, what’s the dirtiest sentence you can make using only these words. The best thing about this is that I can’t be blamed for putting anything dirty on my site…that will be up to you all. :)
Podcasting Magnetic Poetry

Welcome to the new Shawnland!

I’ve been slaving over a hot keyboard for a while now to create a new Shawnland. Why? Mostly to get it hosted somewhere else so it stops breaking every time my computer at home reboots. But also it was due to be changed. What do you think?

5 years!

Today marks my 5 year anniversary at work. It’s actually also my 5 year anniversary of all my post-college employment. They gave me some goodies at work today! In the box is a tent, a camping table and a lantern. Now I’ve just got to escape to a state where the weather is still good enough for camping. :)
Also you’ll see on top of the box is my 5 year service award. It’s got a big Roman numeral V on it and it looks cool. It will sit proudly on my desk and can also be used as a blunt throwing weapon, should ninja monkeys attempt to invade my office.
