I went to see the Conan O’Brien Tour tonight and it rocked! We got Triumph, Andy, the self-pleasuring panda, and the Walker Texas Ranger Lever (now renamed the Chuck Norris Rural Policeman Handle). We also got a surprise one night only musical appearance from Eddie Vedder. I don’t know how Conan got him, because I know he doesn’t go out much. I really don’t think there will be a better show on the tour than what I just saw. And THEN on his encore performance, Conan decided to run out into the audience while playing guitar. He happened to pick the seat in front of me to stand on! Now I know no one would believe me, so lucky for me my phone takes video! Here you go, enjoy and be jealous:
I didn’t plan on it, but yesterday I added a pet to my growing animal collection…A little puppy named Bear. So far the kitties are tolerating him as you can see in this picture. Scroll down for more.

I got bored over Thanksgiving weekend and built an “addition” to the cat tower. The cats were getting so big, they both couldn’t fit on the little top of the original tower anymore. The light-colored carpet is the original store-bought tower. I built the entire dark-carpet side from scratch. Overboard? Maybe. But they love it.

I got a call over the weekend from an old man asking for someone, and I told him he had the wrong number. Hours later I saw the same number calling me so I ignored it and he left me a message. Keep in mind that my message greeting clearly says my name is Shawn and clearly spells out my phone number. I guess he ignored that part.
Listen here:
Whaaa? A couple questions:
- Why was he staring at locks? Or is he referring to river locks?
- Was he calling for Jean or Freddy? Did he forget halfway through the message?
I kind of hope I get another message from him, at least to clear things up.
Two kitties have been added to the household! Welcome Mowgly and Kuma. Mowgly is a twist on the Jungle Book name and Kuma is a star in the Draco constellation. Here they are in action:
Check out my videos page. I uploaded a new video for the first time in almost two years!

Tonight my friends and I got a shout out on a radio station in Scotland. How? By knowing people! I have the proof, because I recorded it with my iPhone. Click here to get the MP3.
This week I went to L.A. for some customer visits, and I knew they had the potential to be cool, but it turned out to be amazing. Let me recap in the form of bullet points and pictures. CLICK on the picture to see it in full size.
- I got to go on the Warner Brother’s Studios lot and wander around in awe at what history and current pop culture exists behind those walls.
- I had a full tour of the Ellen Show, including the entire backstage area. Then I got to watch the rehearsal from the audience seats, followed by the actual taping of the show from inside the control room. How many people can say that?
- Got a tour of the Late Late show set at CBS Studios, including watching the filing of some skits from the audio control booth.
- Went backstage at American Idol, where I got to see the Jordin Sparks rehearsal.
- Saw the set of the Young and the Restless, and got to meet Eric Braeden, who plays the very famous Victor Newman. It turns out he loves chocolate as much as I do.
- Went on a backstage tour of the Price Is Right, where I got to touch the sacred Showcase Wheel. Then had a nice surprise when I got to walk on stage right before the filming started. Upon walking on stage, the crowd started cheering and screaming, because they thought we were there to announce the show was starting. Instead I just waved.
This is really going to make next week at work look quite boring.
