Rebublican Survey

I received a “survey” from the Republican Party this week and I was appalled at what it said. Every question was not really a question but instead a scare tactic to incite the ignorant among us to give them money. If Republicans want to get back their offices, then instead of this crap, maybe they should ask honest questions of the American people and shape the party to match those views. But I guess that’s the hard way and scaring Americans is the easy way. Here are some example hopelessly skewed questions:

“Do you oppose Obama’s plan that would bring bureaucrats between doctors and patients?” Bull! Right now either you’re like several of my family and friends that don’t have any health care at all and are therefore screwed if something bad happens to them, or you’re like the rest of us that have a team of idiotic and extremely profit-oriented insurance workers between you and your doctor.

“If Barack Obama tries to gut the USA PATRIOT Act and other important laws that promote the safety and security…” Wow what a loaded question filled with crap. The Patriot Act takes away Americans rights and allows the government to listen to and torture whoever it wants to without the judicial branch being able to have its normal say. We need warrants backs and we need to stop crapping on our constitution. That entire Patriot Act is illegal and needs to die…now.

Then at the end of the survey, you get surprised with the question of either 1. Donating, or 2., having them throw out you survey because you “favor electing liberal Democrats over the next 10 years.” Shady, shady, shady.
Here’s the whole thing: Republican Survey

Hello Clarice….

A guy in Seattle was convicted of rape and assault and sentenced to life in prison today. There’s also the possibility that he murdered a woman too. When I looked at the article though, the picture made it look like he ate them with fava beans. If it wasn’t so freaky, I’d consider the picture funny: Check it out.

Creative…Sweet

Ooh, I just checked and it appears that my company’s stock hit an all-time high today! It’s probably because we told everyone that tomorrow we’ll be announcing our new product line. Keep an eye out for the news…we’ve done a ton of work on this stuff for a long time!

“If I did it”, now no one will know. (In this case we all know anyway)

Have you read this? It’s the news that OJ’s book and TV appearance have both been canceled.
I’m not exactly sure what I think…I’m glad it isn’t going to make it to the shelves and make OJ money. But at the same time, I’m scared that the American people have a right to complain someone out of a right to free speech. Should we be able to have that kind of power?

We are the Walmart, resistance is futile

You know how everyone constantly complains about Walmart having too much buying power? They are so large and can buy in such bulk that no one can compete with their prices and goes out of business? Well, some genius over there decided to use that for good instead of evil. Walmart is making up for our own government’s inability to provide inexpensive prescriptions for the public and are using their immense buying power to offer $4 monthly prescriptions for some of the more common needed medicines. That should get them some good PR. Can you really bitch about a company that is keeping your grandparents from death or bankruptcy by helping them to afford their prescriptions?

America: We’re racism free at the voting booth for at least 25 more years!

One of the big news stories today was that the President signed a bill that would extend for 25 more years the laws preventing people from practicing racist voting practices in order to keep people from voting. That’s nice to see, but one thing that troubles me, and I can’t seem to find any articles about it, is why are we just extending this 25 more years? Can’t this just be made a permanent law? It seems a little weak to me that we’re still essentially putting a “temporary” hold on racism. My only hope is that this is temporary because the government foresees a day where such a law will be unnecessary.

Normally I don’t express political opinions on here, but I’ll make a short exception

I find it sickeningly funny that when European countries offer to build a nuclear plant for Iran, their ‘president’ not only scoffs at the idea comparing it to being treated as children, but during this rebuffing speech, the crowd chants ‘Death To America’. America? What the hell do we have to do with this? And speaking of that, what the hell did we have to do with those Mohammad cartoons in that Danish newspaper? They were burning American flags over that too. Those people have been completely brainwashed by their leaders.

Why would a government brainwash its people into fearing and hating a group of people? Because when the public is in fear and their hate is directed at others, they will be far more likely to support their current leader(s). You’ll notice that the Bush administration has had a tendency to bring up terrorism at every single opportunity, making us all fell a little less comfortable than we used to, despite the fact that nothing bad has happened inside our borders for nearly 5 years. Perhaps our current leaders and the Iranian president have more in common than either would care to admit.

Stabbing over a microwave

The best part about this incident, is that neither person was smart enough to think, “Why don’t we microwave both of them at once?”
